With a strong basis in Education, Voice and the Performing Arts, Sounds Right Voice Training is perfectly placed to provide effective solutions for teachers’ experience of voice problems in the classroom and for preventing problems.
Sounds Right also provides training in discussion, debate, confidence and communication skills, and a variety of training to young people and adults at various stages of their life and career.
Led and devised by Marina Deestan-Jones, Sounds Right Voice Training is practical, informative and relevant.

Marina Deestan-Jones brings many years of experience in Voice and Speech work, Performing Arts and Business Training to lead the Company. As an actress and former teacher and lecturer the importance of the voice is one of Marina’s passions and her warm and practical approach to enhancing individuals’ voices has proved popular and successful. Marina’s work as an assessor for Business and Vocational skills, an examiner for Spoken English and as a Voice Tutor helping teachers to combat vocal fatigue and problems has confirmed for her the importance of voice training in the learning environment.
“The quality of voice and the way it is used, is central to the overall atmosphere, learner performance and, of course, the user’s vocal health”.
Marina has also helped many professional people with presentation training, communication skills and personal and business confidence and etiquette.
Meet our late, and much beloved, Senior Consultant, Don Nixon
Don was an Assistant Director of Education and Senior Examiner, an international award-winning poet, published writer and Educational Consultant. Don was a popular speaker and adviser.
Sounds Right Ltd is saddened to announce the sudden death of Don Nixon.
Don’s family have very kindly agreed to Sounds Right keeping all references to Don on this site which we would like to do since he was so very active in all aspects of the Company’s work. Don represented the highest standards in communication training and was an exemplary example of fairness, creativity and joy in learning. Don brought out the very best of those he worked with, taught, trained and examined. Don will be deeply missed but remembered with much esteem and great affection.
